Best CFB/CBB HC combo?

Exactly OSF!!!! That is all I'm saying. Meyer himself, has even said he expects more than last year. Last year was not good enough. But me saying I expect Meyer to win at least the A. Big 10 or B. BCS Bowl game and some how that is crazy.

THIS IS OHIO STATE!!! When did the expectations of Ohio State go down? When Meyer was hired? COme on. Bama players after last year said they were not a good year and they expect to win the NC. I'm sure FSU will say the same thing. ALl I'm saying it at least the Big 10.

We're not Michigan. We should expect ourselves to win the Big 10 or BCS bowl game, and compete for NC. WIll it happen every year? No, there will be off years but even those years you expect it going into the year.

Do you know Ohio State last BCS bowl/Big 10 title? 2010 folks(and they year doesn't count in the record books). That is not good. Now 2011/2012 were not fair years but 2013 was. And so will be 2014. So it is time to win again. I don't think there was consecutive years that Tressel didn't win either a Big 10 title/BCS bowl game. But we're giving Meyer the benefit of the doubt 2013/2014.

I don't care if we lose talent, everybody does. FSU, Bama, etc. In fact, there are a lot more teams that loss more talent recently than Ohio State. That is why you reload, and Meyer has brought in great recruiting classes to do so. Every single year Meyer has been here, Ohio State has been the most talented team in the B10.



I'm not saying fire Meyer if we don't do it next year if that is what you were think I was saying.

Will I be disappointed if they don't win the B1G and get into the CFB Playoffs (great, orginal name there btw NCAA)? Of course I will be disappointed, I want OSU to win every last game every year.

But would I say the season is a failure if they don't? Of course not, that would be crazy.

Blindly saying "it's Meyer's 3rd year, he better deliver" is incredibly short sighted IMO. There are a lot of factors to consider, and the boys just laced them up for the first time YESTERDAY. There are still 5+ months til real football starts, so until we find out more about the finished product, putting a CFB Playoff or bust expectation on this upcoming season is premature.

One play didn't cost us that game. Yes, it was a huge gaff, but Philly was the only guy catching passes that game as well. The defense, getting away from running game with the lead, and playing an injured QB cost us the game.

Perhaps not, but we would have had the ball with good field position, up 9 points, half way through the third.  If we go on to score a TD there (definitely not a for sure but just saying) we are up 3 scores and that is probably ball game.  That play completely changed the momentum and we went from up 2 scores to down points very quickly.   It was so frustrating because throughout the season Philly was fair catching balls he had no reason to, and then in the biggest game with two maniacs breathing down his neck he attempts a spin catch and run. 

If anyone watched the game and was asked for one play that turned the game, 100 percent of the people would choose that play.   And the bigger point that I was making was, if Urban wins that game which clearly was very winnable, people would have been ecstatic about his 2 year run this far instead of people in this thread picking at it... and if one game makes that much of a difference then it probably isn't fair to suggest Meyer hasn't done well so far. (Not you or anyone here, just in general)

In a close game, you can never say ONE play decided the game.

That being said, I am with Teddy in that Philly's muffed punt completely changed the complexion of the game, and I felt the moment he fumbled that OSU was going to lose.
