The game is getting closer. I am reserving making a prediction until I see UF play Hawaii tomorrow, but I have been a little encouraged with the way Miami's young guns are looking.

No matter how UF looks tomorrow I do not see Miami winning in the Swamp. If this game was with the 2009 Miami team I would like our chances, but we are simply too young and still have a few holes to fill. I am hoping Miami can run the ball early and set up some deep balls. If UF has a weakness on defense it is in their secondary.

I will be back on here in a day or two with a real prediction, looking forward to reading your thoughts after you watched the Hawaii game. I would say good luck tomorrow, but I am guessing you will not need it

Yeah, can't see Hawaii being able to come close to matching up with Florida. Size wise, skill wise, or mental wise, they're screwed either way.

UF's defense did look good at times, but I still saw enough holes to make me think Miami has a chance. When Hawaii ran up the middle they had success. I thought before the year UF's DT's may be a weakness, and maybe I am right.

One thing that scares me though, I knew UF had a fast offense, but they looked even faster than I thought they would be. Miami will be using a lot of zone blitzes to come after Tebow, but it is important for the LB's and safeties to come up, play assignment football, and tackle well. One mistake against that offense usually results in a TD.

Meyer experimented with a lot of different defenses yesterday. We were in a 3-3-5 for a couple series. Which might have been the reason for their ability to run up the middle. When we sat 7 in the box, they stopped running on us.

What I noticed about the defense most, was the quickness to the ball. Whenever Hawaii got the ball in space, someone was closing in on the ball, right away. What looked like a sure 10 yards gain (last year) was negated to a 2 or 3 yarder, because of the pursuit to the ball.

You're right about the offense. It's disgustingly good, and anyone who touches the ball, has a big chance to score. Big time play makers all over the field. Reminiscent of the Spurrier era. 10 second, 20 second drives.

Teams no only have to prepare for Tebow now, they have to prepare for everyone. This was without Harvin too... mind you. But everyone knows the best way to stop a high powered offense, is to keep them off the field. If a team can continue to get first downs, and keep drives alive, they will beat Florida (ala Auburn, every year it seems like)

That has to be the formula for Miami. Our OL is much improved over last year, and a healthy James and Cooper make a pretty good RB combo. I expect to see a heavy does of them early, along with a controlled passing game using our bigger receivers (Hankerson, McKenzie, Johnson, etc). They may be young, but The U has some serious size at the WR spot, and hopefully they will show up to play this weekend.

You might grind it out, and then catch UF in a base set, for a big pass...

But on the other side of the coin, can you stop the UF offense? Miami might score with a controlled running game, but can they stop...?

I think it all comes down to can our DL make a dent in what looks like a very good UF OL. If they can the LB's will be free to make plays and we can afford to blitz and run different schemes. If the DL gets pushed around then we are in trouble.

This is one of the best OLines in the SEC. Can't wait for the game. I think we are more than due a W in the Miami series. I just hope we can start playing you guys more often.

This is as pumped up as I have been for a game in years. It almost sucks I have the week off because now it will draaaag on. I hate to say it, but I think you get your win this year. As for playing every year, you guys dropped us in the 80's, and it looks like we will play about every five years. I have to admit though, with playing in the SEC, and playing F$U every year, I do not blame you guys for not playing us every year.

I would like to see a home and home every 4 years with Miami. Play you guys at the beginning (much like this year) and FSU at the end. To find out really who is the best team in the state, every 4 years.

I would not mind playing every other year in a neutral site, that way we do not have the ridiculous wait until 2013 until the return trip to Miami. I am pumped too, and I am off work this week, the wait is going to kill me!!!

I would be for that, especially since some of the luster has worn off the Miami/F$U rivalry, and it may not come back until Ole Daggumit finally hangs it up.
