In a "way too early" kind of poll for next year, Ohio State is looking good as they have 75 of their 120 pts returning next year. The big down side is they lose Logan but Nate (125lb National Champ), Bo (165 3rd place), and Kyle (197lb runner up) are all freshman. Add to that Logan's younger brother Hunter (who is a 2x All American but was rendered essentially helpless through is inability to move either arm this year) will be back as a senior and will be among the favorites to win a title next year as a senior (he's having Tommy John surgery on both elbows but should be back by October). I'd say we have at least 80 points coming back next year. Now, a lot could change from now until then but the bottom line is Ohio State will at least challenge for the title next year as well. Sure, PSU will get a boost by the return from redshirt of their 125 and 141 lbs All Americans, but we've got some talented freshman coming up too. What makes me happy about all this is this is what Ohio State wrestling should be. There is no reason that the flagship university in one of the top 2 wrestling states in all of America shouldn't be a serious national title contender every year. For the next 3 years it looks like that will be the case.
They were really hyping PSU for next year. Thanks for the analysis. BL

Here's how I see us vs PSU stacking up next year in a dual meet
125lbs toss up - Megaludis from PSU is a 3x AA while NaTo is the defending national champion 133lbs toss up - Guilibon from PSU finished as an AA this year while Johnni DiJulius beat him 2 weeks earlier at the B1G championships. I believe they are about even in their series against one another. 141lbs PSU w/ bonus points - PSU has an exceptional RS Sophomore coming back. He's the last person to beat Logan. The kid is good. 149lbs tOSU (possibly w/ bonus points) - Assuming Hunter Stieber is healthy he can beat anyone in the country 157lbs toss up - honestly I don't know who will fill this vacancy for PSU while tOSU will most likely have Bo Jordan's younger brother Micah. Micah is good but not at the same level as Bo yet. 165lbs tOSU (w/ bonus points) I'm not sure who PSU has here either but I don't believe it matters since they will be going up against Bo Jordan. 174lbs tOSU - PSU just won the national title here but that guy is graduating while Mark Martin is returning. Martin seriously underperformed at the NCAAs and will certainly improve on that next year. 184lbs tOSU - Returning to the lineup next year for tOSU is this year's All American (5th place). PSU will either be starting a talented freshman or an unproven Sophomore/Junior. Either way, I like Kenny here 197lbs toss up - it sounds odd to say Ohio State's returning NCAA runner up is only a toss up in this match but PSU's guy finished 3rd at NCAAs and actually beat Snyder for the B1G title. They split matches this past year w/ Snyder beating the PSU guy in the dual meet. HWT tOSU - Finally the PSU HWT that we haven't beaten has graduated. Tavanello was injured most of the year so if he's healthy I like him against whoever they send out (probably one of their freshman studs they just recruited).
Bottom line, I like our team better when compared to PSU.

Yes, I do. I've been following it since I was in high school. I remember watching the head coach of Iowa as well as Ohio State's coach compete when they were in college. In fact, right before my junior year in high school I went to Jeff Jordan's house to train w/ a few other guys. I remember Bo was a baby then and each of us would take turns playing w/ him. I feel so old now seeing him in college.
