I know that we won't be able to judge the real results of the class for a few years, but based on need and level of talent, what do you think of OSU's class?
Defensive Line - A
Jashon Cronell 4* DE
Dre'Mont Jones 4* DE
Josh Alabi 3* DE
Rashod Berry 3* DE
Robert Landers 3* DT
DaVon Hamilton 3* DT
Not a huge surprise, but Meyer and Co cleaned up again along the DL. Not as star studded as before, but with the depth OSU will be losing after next season, they needed to replenish.
Linebacker - A
Justin Hilliard 5* LB
Jerome Baker 4* ATH/LB
Nick Conner 4* LB
They have had some larger LB classes in the past few years, so it seemed like the focused on other needs. The three they DID take, however, are impressive. I think Hilliard and Baker will be playing together a lot.
Defensive Back - A
Eric Glover Williams 4* CB
Jamel Dean 4* CB
Denzel Ward 4* CB
Joshua Norwood 3* CB
Damon Arnette 3* CB
Needed to add depth, got a lot of it. Replaced a recruit at the 11th hour as well, impressive.
Offensive Line - A
Isaiah Prince 4* OT
Matt Burrell 4* OG
Grant Schmidt 3* OT
Kevin Feder 3* OT
Branden Bowen 3* OT
Mirko Jurkovic 3* OG
Wow...just wow. OSU is going to need help on the OL in 2 seasons, and man did they stock pile this year. Again, not a lot of stars in this group, but Warriner is a magic maker. Landing Prince today did a lot to boost this class, and I think Burrell is a can't miss.
Wide Receiver/Tight End - B
Alex Stump 4* WR
KJ Hill 4* WR
AJ Alexander 3* TE
Not a lot hear, but wasn't a position of need. Landing Hill kept this from being a let down, but Stump should be very good.
Running Back - A
Mike Webber 4* RB
Buckeyes are loaded at RB, but keeping Webber out of M*ch*gan and winning the first head to head battle with Harbaugh makes this an A
Quarterback - A
Torrance Gibson 4* ATH/QB/WR
Joe Burrow 4* QB
I know everyone is excited about Gibson, but I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up at another spot *cough* WR *cough*. I am VERY excited about Burrows though, kid is a legit dual threat. More of a JTB type (not a lot of shimmy, but enough to keep defenses honest) but with a stronger arm.
Special Teams - A?
Liam McCullough 2* LS
Don't need a punter, don't need a kicker. Got the #1 long snapper in the class. Somewhere, Jim Tressel is smiling.
