Two bad calls in the Belk Bowl already. First, U of L has Georgia shutdown on the Dawgs first possession...only to be saved by the refs with a lame hands to the face call. The announcers show a replay to look at it, and they "guess" a defender's hand brushing against an OL's face mask is the hands to the face. Yeah, it wasn't anything close to hands to the face. Incidental contact at most, back of the hand as the defender was running towards the QB.
Second call, TD catch in the end zone...then the refs claim the U of L receiver went out of bounds "on his own" and was thus ineligible. Announcers showed the replay several times...he was bumped out quite obviously. No TD. Georgia saved again.
I know for a fact the refs aren't helping GA. I just haven't seen any bad calls on them yet...but the game's still young.
I think these are the same guys that called the targeting in the B1G CCG. Not sure.
