Bowl names question

The "Duck Commander's Independence Bowl" is getting ready to start. We are in the "Allstate Sugar Bowl". Is there a reason why they can't call them the "Independence Bowl" sponsored by Duck Commander and the "Sugar Bowl" sponsored by Allstate?

I understand sponsors are needed but why in the name of the bowl?

I still don't see why saying sponsored by ... makes any difference there. It's never called the "Pepsi Super Bowl"

Marketing 101. Name sponsor always more than presenting sponsor.

I really do wish this practice would go away. "sponsored by" is good enough for advertising purposes. Marketing 101 may say differently, but consumer 101, which all of us know by default, says it's the same thing. We buy products because we want the product, not because the bowl game name is a mouthful of stupid.

Years ago they had the Citrus Bowl. That changed to the Capital One Bowl a long time ago, and everyone seems to have gotten used to it. What makes it confusing is when the sponsor's change so frequently.

I don't like that it isn't called the Citrus Bowl anymore, but at least "Capital One Bowl" is easy to say and isn't stupid. Unlike "Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl", "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl", "Duck Commander Independence Bowl", Meinekie Car Care Bowl", and too many others to list, past and present.

The names are so long you can't see who is actually playing in them on the channel guide on the tv.

The Rose Bowl did not succumb to this nonsense.

It was " The Rose Bowl" presented by ....
