Bama Fans are Cocky

Which I guess shouldn't be a shock as their ilk tend to be that way, but they seem to think OSU is a slightly worse/better (there is debate about that) team than Mizzou.

This is based on my message board perusal that I am a fan of doing leading up to big games.

They seem to think that the CFP game will go about the same as the SEC CCG.

I think they are really overestimating their D, which really isn't anything special this year. Also, OSU has an offense that is WORLDS better than Mizzou's.

I think that this will be a shootout akin to the Bama/Auburn game.

Cocky is on both sides of the fence for the teams - I'm sure there are those Bama fans that are rational (have even had a couple of my bama friends have intelligent convos with me about the game) - but overall, if we were in their shoes, recognized as the national power from the national power conference, I'm sure we would have a larger contingent of knuckleheads. I think the only reason we don't currently is due to our big game debacles that are still fresh.

Being honest about it, if I were a Bama fan, I'd have a very difficult time not being cocky, given the amount of success that program has had in recent years. But some are just ridiculous about it and believe the hype that the SEC is good enough to play in the NFL or somesuch and that the Big Ten is no better than the MAC or Sun Belt. If my sense about the SEC is correct this season, there are going to be a lot of unpleasantly surprised fans of SEC teams this year when all is said and done.

As an Ohio State fan, I'm a bit worried that we won't see the same team show up at the Sugar Bowl as did in the Big Ten CCG. Alabama fans should be worried that the same team does show up. Nobody could have beaten the December 6, 2014 Buckeyes. Nobody.

I think my situation has you beat... I'm driving to the parents in Mississippi to spend Christmas with them and then stopping in Alabama to spend the following week in the woods. Unfortunately, ESPN doesn't come in through an antenna. If the one couple with the nice motor home with satellite doesn't show up or have the game on a TV outside, I will be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Auburn watching. Ugh!

If the game were THIS weekend, I would share your concern. Luckily, there are almost 4 weeks between the games, so OSU has time to consume all the joy from the win and get back to work. Now, I am not saying we will get the exact same performance out of the boys against Bama (because that was a once in a decade type of performance), but I am not concerned about a letdown.

OSU is 4-0 in games in which they are underdogs with Meyer as the HC. I think he will get everyone fired up and ready.
