CFB Playoff committee rankings

FSU 4

This is very interesting as it seems to lock out anyone else. They've placed the undefeated defending national champ at 4th and moved TCU over FSU. I can't see the committee moving both FSU and tOSU past TCU next week if all top 5 win this weekend.

I think they have done exactly what many predicted. They have it set right now to look pretty locked up, but there is an opening. FSU plays 11th ranked GT, Ohio State plays 13th ranked Wisconsin, and TCU plays 2-9 Iowa State. If all three win, FSU will certainly move ahead of them. The question is whether we can squeak in.

We just got shafted. But, Baylor totally go hosed. From top to bottom, if Baylor wins out as does TCu,mTCUnwill has lost to the Big 12 Champion, yet still be in the playoff. Makes no sense.

Plus, with FSU at 4th, even if we win in less than spectacular fashion, the committee can freeze us out. This is no better than the BCS.

I found it interesting that the CFP chairman flat said they did not punish Ohio State for the JTB injury and will evaluate Ohio State based on the B1G Championship.

So based on that, if Ohio State beats Wisconsin and FSU, Alabama, or Oregon loses, The Buckeyes are in. I'm not sure if they would jump the Bucks with Arizona if it's the Oregon losing scenario. I'm also not sure what it says if a teams beats the same team twice other than they simply have that team's number.

I put our chances now at a respectable 25% if the Bucks win. FSU is the most likely team to lose Saturday of the three we need, and that would be the best scenario for the Bucks, preventing a possible Arizona jump and keeping one SEC team in there to "legitimize" the playoff in the eyes of SEC-loving media types.

I don't think we were shafted. Sure we can make an argument why we deserve to be there but lost a game we should have won.

Our resume is no better than TCU. With JT, I think we could use the eye test argument but now with him out.....

What does the committee do IF Alabama, Oregon, and FSU all lose?

They'd really have their hands full then.

No, I say "shafted" simply because if we only win by 3 points or by a TD and Cardale looks pedestrian or even worse, has a bad night, the committee can (and most likely will) not put us in the playoff. Course, if all 5 win this weekend, it matters not. We don't make the cut, unless FSU wins only by 3 or less.

But, the big travesty is that Baylor won't even get the chance to find out, even if they will and are outright Big 12 champs.

I think the committee chairman made that eye test argument for us and said they'll wait to see what this Cardale guy can do (in so many words). It's frustrating not having JTB going into that game, but it would also say a lot about the Buckeyes as a team if they go into that game and come away victorious. That's your eye test for a team instead of just an individual, and it answers the question of, is JTB just that good, or is he just surrounded by so much talent and in a good system that he can do what he does and make it look easy.

Missouri would have an argument, as would GT. And, Baylor still hasn't got past KSU.
FSU has been steadily sliding, but they'd be one of few with only one lose if chaos happens.

Ohio State has beaten as many bowl eligible teams than Baylor and TCU combined.

I don't use that argument. Beating Illinois, penn state, navy, Cincinnati, etc mean nothing to me. Theyre bowl eligible but suck.

It's the same argument in basketball when someone say team A beat 7 tourney teams and 3 of them are from smaller conferences and only there because they won their weak xonferenxe tourney.
