Predicting a win this week for ya

Yeah, Michigan should win this one easily. It will give them a good chance to figure out who belongs where and what works also. Miami looks awful so far.

I haven't seen Miami this year but Utah was no joke. All the pundits with their "Utah shocks Michigan in the Big House" are the same experts that have Michigan going 6-6 and Utah making a run for a BCS Bowl. So ... was it really a shock to have a senior-lead Utah team beat a Freshman-lead Michigan team in Week #1??

And what I saw last week from the defense and special teams lines up with my season prediction for a team that struggles on offense but can play the "Tressel ball" (if you will) game of field position. Michigan may have to "Beamer ball" it once or twice in BigTen play as well.

I think Threet will show some rhythm and balance and the defense will look better (against a worse team).

Something like 27-13 Michigan is what I was thinking.

No, there's no doubt that Utah was only a mild upset at best. I think I put too much stock into how prepared the Michigan team would be so maybe I overrated them to start the season. That's not to say I thought they'd be in a major bowl but I thought they'd have enough to beat Utah; which they almost did.

Either way though, it's not the worst thing in the world that they lost to Utah(nothing compared to App. St.) and it may actually give them something stronger to build off of than if they had squeezed the game out.

well no matter which way you cut it, this is a 're-building' year for Michigan. But hell, Notre Dame has been rebuilding for 15yrs! New system with new players ... which would have been the case for Carr had he not retired with Mallett having been rumored to transfer before all the coaching changes. I think the offense will gel as the year goes on and have said all along that a year similar to the Vest's first in Columbus would be a success. 7-6 or 8-5 with an Alamo Bowl win over a Nebraska or something would be pretty good ... but losing to a solid Utah team in week one is part of that.

Yeah, I figured the Wolverines would win about 6 or 7 games this year. As the season got closer, I was thinking more like 8 but I think 6 or 7 is more reasonable with 8 being a big step forward.

As for Notre Dame, they barely warrant mention. They need to start with getting a good coach in there and start recruiting some "thugs" as Charlie Weis so eloquently put it.

Thanks! I was pretty sure you'd beat the Red Hawks and it would be close, but I was surprised when I saw the score. I Tivo'd the game but haven't seen it yet.

the new offense is a bit bi-polar to this point. the spread relies a lot on rhythm and it definitely comes and goes so far.
