The Ravens are calling their new offensive formation that uses Troy Smith at QB and Joe Flacco split wide their "Suggs Package."
It's coach John Harbaugh's way of making light of Terrell Suggs' belief that Smith, not Flacco, should be Baltimore's QB. Flacco caught a 43-yard pass from Smith out of the formation Sunday, exhibiting surprising athleticism. It will be something defenses need to prepare for going forward.
--Glad to see Troy has a role in the offense, I really think he could be starting somewhere. Maybe the Niners will swing a deal for him after O'Sullivan's failure today.

I hate O'Sullivan and his sorry ass...Alex Smith is better than him and that is saying a lot.

anyone ever find out what illness it was that TS got real late in the pre-season???
if i remember right, he dropped like 30 lbs from this virus. he was listed as the #1 QB and most of the D guys seemed pretty excited abotu his potential...
guess the ravens have completely forgotten Kyle Bowler, about time...

Here is what I could find on it
"It's a rare complication of a very severe tonsilar infection. Ironically, this type of problem, although rare, does happen most commonly in young, healthy people like Troy," Tucker said, according to the Carroll County (Md.) Times. "Troy is someone who's young, who's healthy, has a normal immune system, normal heart and lungs. Troy's health was never in danger. He was never critically ill."
He did lose 20-30 lbs and was going to be the starting QB.
Suggs just about week ago said if TS is healthy then he should be the starting QB so the D guys are still supporting him for the starting job.
