Bucks throw no-hitter against UM! Video posted

Congrats to Alex Wimmers on pitching the first-ever 9-inning no-hitter for the Buckeyes!! 14 strikeouts in a 6-0 win over TSUN.


Game was on the Big 10 network!!!

Bucks now 33-10 overall this year and 1/2 game for first in the Big 10(Illinois has played one more b10 game).

OSU plays UM later again today for game 2 on a double-header.

First Ohio State no hitter in a 9inning game. 133pitches for the Ohio State "ace" Wimmers!


Game 2 of the day OSU wins 9-6 over Michigan. Coming into today Michigan had won the past 12 out of 16 against OSU in the recent years.

Bucks now 34-10 & 13-4 in the B10. Tied for first with Illinois and Minnesota is 1/2GB. VERY GOOD year for OSU baseball. OSU women softball is also tied for first in the Big 10.

Wow, that's pretty impressive, has he been in the draft yet? And if not, is he a big time prospect?

I'm not sure.

As for big time prospect I'm also not sure about big time prospects for MLB but I can tell you some stuff about him.

ON Big 10 network they were talking about he was still throwing in the 90's late in the game!!

This season:
8-1 2.51ERA and 103SO(most in B10) and I think B10 player of the week 3 times this season(maybe a 4th on the way soon after today's game). Having a great year. Only a sophomore so if he is a good time prospect then he still has to stay one more year.

Sounds like he should be, especially if he is throwing that hard as a sophomore. I wish there were more good college baseball teams around here, I love going to their games. Reminds me of my ten week baseball career at XU!

Yeah, I saw the highlights from his 17 strike out game. When he throws that 101 MPH heater after an off speed pitch, well, it just isn't fair!

It was SWEET!!!! Almost turn a DP on that play also by the SS..

Video there from a little from the page. The SS play is @ 2:00. What a play to save the no-no!

First no hitter I saw watching live. And you have to love one of his response. " Throwing a no hitter is great and it's even better since it's against Michigan". Something like that...it was on channel 10TV. They didn't play it on the video I posted for you.
