Both played at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Trying to improve their NBA draft stock
It looks like both had a nice tournament:
Hunter averaged 15.6 points and 12 rebounds, shot 67.9 percent from the field and had 11 blocked shots.
That was in 3 games and each game Hunter had a double-double
Butler team won the championship!
Jamar Butler saved his best for last in the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational Tournament, scoring 18 points and adding five assists without a turnover to lead his team to the tournament championship tonight.
Butler’s team, Tidewater Sealants, won 103-80 after building a 21-point lead by halftime. Butler made seven of 16 shots from the field, including four of nine three-pointers. He had four of the Sealants’ seven threes.
In the first 2games Butler had games of 9 points(3-10 shooting), 15 points(7-13 shooting)
Here is what one site said on Butler
Jamar Butler also had a nice game today, looking much more comfortable than he did yesterday, finally getting his perimeter stroke going, hitting a variety of spot-up and pull-up shots. He also attacked the basket more than we’re accustomed to seeing, using screens and taking advantage when his defender didn’t have his feet set. He showed a nice right-to-left crossover in the lane on one occasion, and finished at the rim and with runners. He looks like a sure-fire Orlando invite at this point.
SO it looks like Butler will join another tournament to improve his chances at getting drafted.
Good luck to both!
