It seems these days that he's been embraced as much as any scUM player could be. I assume because enough years have passed, he was such a large piece of the rivalry, and he's only television every week and is usually pretty fair towards OSU.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't watch much but from what I saw he picked against OSU pretty much any time he had a chance. To me, he is Mark May, only slightly more articulate.

As for the show today, was good. EE holds himself very well. His dad was there and had tears as he watched his son up there talking. Very cool moment.


Meyer was good also. Didn't know how close him and CC were.

They were telling a story about Muirfield. Mike and Mike were going to go golfing there over the Summer, and the guy that was the chaperone for them, told them that Muirfield had a STRICT cell phone policy, and to please turn them off.

Greeny said that the very moment the rep from Muirfield said that, Greeny looked outside on the fairway, only to see Coach walking down the middle of the course talking on his cell phone.


His response was that Meyer didn't really pay attention to the cell phone rule. I figure nobody would correct Coach on it, either.

I'm not a fan per se of Desmond, but he is no Mark May. When he bad mouths Ohio State he does so in a tongue-in-cheek way that is completely within the spirit of the rivalry, and he gives Ohio State their due plenty.

The difference between Mark May and Desmond Howard when it comes to Ohio State is Mark May hates Ohio State but doesn't have any of the respect for the Buckeyes to go along with it that Desmond or most scUM players and fans do. There has always been a mutual, grudging respect between our two fan bases which is an important part of what makes it a rivalry and not merely an ignorant, seething, nonsensical hatred that the eternally butt-hurt May always displays.
