Before the game the students painted a M on a statue at Sparty... YA lets piss off the #4 team in the country for no reason.lol.. My brother and I went to The Game in (I think) 2009 at Ann Arbor. Luckily we were surrounded by some old fans who had been alive during the Woody and Bo years. Very pleasant people even if they were scUM fans. They seemed to have a lot of respect for Ohio State, even if there was no doubt they wanted nothing more than to beat us.
But this little patch of kindly elder scUM fans were an oasis in an otherwise jackwagon-infested stadium. They had some of the worst fans I've ever encountered. After the game (Bucks won of course), when everyone was walking back to their cars, there were a bunch of scUM fans throwing this hard inedible-looking fruit that grows on the trees up there at random Buckeye fans. Even at women or older people. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen, and it wasn't just a few of them, it was a whole bunch of them doing this.
As a whole, they lacked any class whatsoever. This wasn't like pretty much most fan bases I've been around, including Ohio State, where most fans act fine and there are the few that engage in douche-baggery that stand out. At scUM it was the few who acted fine while the many were like a truckload of Summer's Eve had emptied its contents into the stadium. I'd say they are the worst fans there are, but I've heard PSU fans own that title.

In 1997, after THE game I got the same treatment but not fruit, drinks poured on me from RVs and trash thrown at me. All PSU fans I have met were nice but that was not at a game.
Everyone has those fans, and when you mix youth with alcohol and anger, it can get ugly.
I have seen OSU fans at tailgates, games, and on game days act in some pretty atrocious ways, so I am not going to pretend this is isolated to scUM.
Personally, that's why I go out of my way to be cordial and inviting to visiting fans. I want them to have a good experience and fond memories of their trip(s) to Columbus. Besides, so long as they aren't being disrespectful (and even if they are to an extent), fans should be allowed to show their fandom without fear of physical harm, even when visiting another team's home field.

I would much rather hear "I've been to OSU on gameday, I had a great time, no one hassled me, and they were actually pretty friendly" than "I went to OSU, they are all a-holes, someone actually dumped a beer on me (which I have seen)".
m*****nders aren't nice people. Actually, they aren't people at all. m****nders are actually tiny dinosaurs. But don't take MY word for it; look at the amazing facts: 1, they kill and eat their own kind w/o even thinking about it 2, their hides make durable (but stinky) luggage, shoes and handbags, and 3, they have brains the size of walnuts.
It's not enough to merely love Ohio State. You also have to hate m******n!
