Marijuana should be legalized.

I don't smoke and never have and I still feel this way.

Legalize it, regulate it, tax it, free a large portion of the 1.5 million NON VIOLENT drug offenders from prison, reallocate money and manpower in our police force to things that actually matter.

I don't think it's only the lower class that would use, and that tax money could be used to fund public school programs and/or welfare.

Just curious. When MJ is widely available from big bad corporate America, how soon do you think it will be before the class action suits start? MJ has more tar than tobacco. Plus, when people use this stuff, they inhale and hold it in their lungs, prolonging the exposure. If tobacco causes cancer, so does this stuff.

The lawsuits will be bigger than big tobacco. Can't wait.

Thing about this, if you're an owner and you're paying a guy a guaranteed contract...would you want him smoking out before a game?

Now, when it comes to the average everyday folk and taxes...I'm all for it. However, I'm all for testing prior to work or during work. I wouldn't want my employee high and dealing with public misrepresenting my company and acting impaired.

Look, is it better than most all drugs...yes, would I rather them high than drunk, probably. However, i'd rather them sober working...unless there's a medical condition that warrants daily use.

Yeah, agreed, I was talking about different issues.

Just because alcohol is legal, doesn't mean I can walk into work drunk and expect NOT to get fired.

I guess it depends.

Big Tobacco got nailed because they lied, put out false reports, etc, not JUST because it's unhealthy. Things can be unhealthy and as long as you let people know that it is.

Also, while ONE joint has more tar, is held in lungs, more carcinogens, etc than one cigarette, people aren't going to be smoking (for the most part) 12-36 joints per day like they are cigarettes.
