You think Miami's attendance sucks now?

Wow, just found out from a few friends that with the renovations to that joke of a stadium we play in, that they are reclassifying the seats, and people that have been loyal supporters (yes smart asses, all 20 of them), are being told that they are not guaranteed the same seats next year....unless they donate more. Wow, with the sh!t move from the OB to this dump, and now they are doing this to the few loyal supporters they have, it could get even uglier. I hate my team....

HEH....I remember back on the old ESPN board when the canes were good making fun of the "TENS" of fans in attendance at the home games. I'd hate to see it now!!!

This has got to make it a challenge to recruit top tier kids. I mean who is going to want to play in an empty stadium when other programs are packed to capacity? That's not to say they can't get good kids but this simply gives other coaches ammo they can use against Miami when recruiting against them.

I am sure it does hurt quite a bit. With all the allure of living in Miami, and playing for a team that has stocked the NFL for two decades has, it is equally as bad that they play in this dump, and are lucky to get 35K to a game.

My approach would be simple. I'd acknowledge Miami's past but would then say that is where that greatness will remain because the school doesn't care enough to invest in the football program. Therefore, no matter how good the team thinks it is you will always be at a disadvantage to any school that cares enough to invest significant resources in its football program.

Miami as a program needs to start over. New admin, new coach, new stadium, and invest in the damn team. We had a good run of low paid assistants in the 90's and early 2000's, but that can only last for so long, sooner or later you have to pay these guys.

And if I am a top recruit right now, I am not looking at Miami unless I am a RB or a TE. Despite some recent struggles, Miami has still managed to pump out quality players at those two spots, and has for a long time.
