Davon Hamilton is a Buckeye (Updated title)

KY commit Davon Hamilton, 6'4" 285lb DT, Pickerington Central, took his official visit to OSU this weekend. He will flip flipped to the Buckeyes in the next week 1-26-15.

Only a couple of spots left in the class . . .

Look for KJ Hill, WR, 6-1, 192 who was committed to Arkansas but recently de-committed will also be a Buckeye.

They would take another DT, Terry Beckner out of Missouri but are not sure he will pick the Buckeyes over Mizzou. Stacy Elliott is working on him. He has an official visit to OSU scheduled soon but will give Mizzou the last shot.

They would take one of Damien Harris (Bama) or LJ Scott (Sparty), RB's, if they wanted to flip.

Otherwise, you can pretty much put a bow on the 2015 class. Another top 10 effort for the staff. Excellence continues.

The future is so bright, we all need to wear shades.

I'm sure you know what you're talking about, but I never really follow recruiting. There are so many recruits on all the big teams that never amount to much but are talked up big when they are being recruited.

Personally, I don't think it matters who the Bucks get, as long as they have a minimal level of talent and physical ability. It seems to me it is the system and culture at Ohio State that drives their success, not superstar players.

So yeah, the future is very very bright.

Ummm... this team is loaded with superstars... you can look at the QB position and see that. There will be a lot of players from this years team making NFL teams.

who they get matters. a lot. otherwise, Urban would just take the first 25 kids who would say yes. they would all be from Ohio.

instead, they criss-cross the country to find the right guys.

Quick update on Beckner: The Mizzou d-line coach just took the co-DC job at Illinois, which might give the Buckeyes the opening they need to land him.

I get what you're saying Keln, but the numbers argue otherwise.

I will try to find it, but there was an article a few years back that showed the PERCENTAGE of 5* and 4* recruits that end up being Conf AA, National AA, and drafted versus 3* and lower.

It was pretty drastic how many more (again, by percentage) 5 and 4 stars make the grade.

Another update. Mizzou got out the checkbook and kept the dline coach, promoted him to co-dc. Probably not going anywhere.

Another tidbit: Isaiah Prince, 6'5" OT from Maryland, who "committed" to Alabama on Friday, had second thoughts and tried to make a clandestine visit to Ohio State this weekend. Lots of recruiting analysts knew about this, but Bill (50/50) Kurelic, of Bucknuts.com, tipped off the 247 Alabama site who put up a story about it. 5 minutes later, Bucknuts published the same story.

No idea if he will be a Buckeye, but he is a great kid and player. Hope he commits to the good guys.
