Is Donovan McNabb a NFL HOF?

Great question from ESPN recently, do you think McNabb is a HOF QB?

Career stats:
- 173Games(167 GS) 59% CMP% 37,276 passing yards 234TD 117INT. 85.6 QB Rating. 3,459rushing yards 29rushing TD
- 16 career playoff GS - 24TD 17INT 3752 passing yards 59% CMP%, 4rushing TD, 9-7 record
- 6 Pro Bowls
- 2004 NFL POY
- 0SB(1SB game though, loss to NE)

Pro Bowl appearances are basically meaningless anymore because it's a popularity contest. He's the same level as Dan Marino - lots of great stats but never won the only one that really counts, the SB.

I get your point, but McNabb is nowhere near the category that Marino is in. Marino is an all time great. He was a first ballot HOFer. McNabb is definitely worthy of the discussion, but I think he is a bubble type guy. My knee jerk reaction is no, but I could be swayed otherwise.

I agree...he's not anywhere near the QB Marino was, but his stats are just that - stats. If Marino had won at least 1 SB, his stats would have propelled him to the level of the truly elite, like Montana, Johnny Unitas, Brady. I doubt McNabb would have ever gotten to that rare air.

I pretty much agree with this although I'm pretty solidly in the no category. He had a good career and I will remember him as a player but I don't think he deserves a ton of consideration.

I will say that I think people underestimate how good he was though. He went to a number of NFC Championship games and fought through a lot of injuries. That's the kind of guy you want playing for you.

I think he is a borderline HOFer.

I think the "never won a Super Bowl" thing is a completely overblown stat. It takes a lot of guys to win a Super Bowl and Trent Dilfer is no HOFer.
