Ryan Ludwick starts rehab

Could be good news for Reds, although I'm like Cincy, I'm not sure if we're getting the real Ludwick back. But only one way to find out, and that started today.

He went 1-2 1BB with Dayton(A) tonight. DH also. I think he has 20days in the minors before the Reds have to bring him up, someone can correct me if I'm wrong. So we could be seeing him Mid August back with the Reds to take Paul/Robinson spot.

0-1 1BB 1R in game 2 of his rehab. DH again. Good to see he scored a run after being walked, meaning he got to run the bases. Although more important to see him swing the bat and see how his shoulder is doing.

i wouldn't add a bat...i would however go and try to get perkins from minn or crane from chisox...won't cost nearly as much as a bat would.

Is it bad if I'm not mad if the Reds don't do anything? If they do try to upgrade the bullpen, I'm fine with that. But I'm not going to be upset with Marshall/Broxton both close to being back.

Starters are fine. Bullpen is good, could use one upgrade if at the right price. Hitting is fine because we don't have the $$$ to go out and get some of the better bats.

After playing 3 games as a DH in Dayton, Ludwick is now with the Bats in the Ville(AAA).

Went 0-3 his first night, 1-3 1double 1RBI tonight. Played both games in LF also. Looks like he is getting close to returning to Cincinnati.

More good news: Broxton has been sent to the Ville also for Rehab assignment also. So he should be getting close also. Now just need Marshall to join them.

Broxton is back with the Reds now, called up this morning. Think he pitch a few times in AAA and didn't give up a run in his outings.


Ludwick has been struggling with his hitting in AAA but did hit his first HR last night, 2 run shot. Only hitting .077 in AAA so far though since being moved up. Hopefully the HR is a sign that the power is coming back and shoulder is feeling good.
