What a game for our Future C next year.

On the bus ride home from the Flyin' To The Hoop Classic in Vandalia, Ohio, last night, Canal Winchester center B.J. Mullens and future Ohio State teammate Jon Diebler engaged in some good-natured banter via cell phone.
"I told Jon I was coming after him next," Mullens said after he scored 62 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and blocked three shots in a 79-69 victory over Our Savior New American of New York City. The 7-foot-1 senior shot 28 of 34 from the field and 6 of 12 at the free-throw line.
Diebler's largest output at Upper Sandusky last season was 77 points. He averaged 42 points in setting state season and career scoring marks.
Mullens, who had tied Shawn Haughn's school record with 46 points in just three quarters against Fairfield Union on Saturday, put up the fourth-largest points total in Central District history.
Emil Hartman of Ohio Deaf scored 67 points in a 1959 game. Leroy Walker of Mifflin (1955) and Jim Reese of Big Walnut (1969) each scored 64.
Before his two-game binge, Mullens missed a game because of dizzy spells.
"It was the first game B.J. had ever missed and it was liked he was a caged lion all week," Canal Winchester coach Kent Riggs said.
"They pressured us a good bit and they were only guarding B.J. one on one, so it was fairly obvious if we just got the ball in there, some good things were going to happen."
Mullens had 36 of his team's 38 points in the first half.
"I didn't have any idea how much I was scoring until the announcer said I had 55 and had broken the tournament record at the end of the third quarter. I thought to myself, 'Wow, I'm really on a roll,' " Mullens said. "It just seemed like I scored every time I touched it. Fortunately, my teammates were wise enough to see the mismatch and get me the ball."
Dick Bogenrife of Sedalia Midway set the Ohio scoring record of 120 points in 1953.
Mullens' 62-point night is tied for 31st in state history.

I can't wait to see him in scarlet and gray next year for us!
