Buckeyes add another player to their 2008 class.
Travis Howard 3* CB from Florida. Some teams that were trying to get him are : Ohio State - Auburn - Georgia Tech - North Carolina - Tennessee
Scout.com's Bill Greene just learned that Travis Howard, a 6-foot-1,170-pound cornerback from Dr. Michael M. Krop High in Miami, Fla. is the latest member of the 2008 Ohio State recruiting class.
"I just committed about 15 minutes ago," Howard explained. "I called Coach Fickell and told him. At first he was shocked, and then he asked me if I was serious and I said yes!"
"I talked to Coach Fickell for about 15 minutes and he told me that Coach (Jim) Tressel would be giving me a call tonight."
Howard is a talented defensive back prospect who finished his junior season with 50 tackles and two picks.
Howard is the Buckeyes' 13th known commitment in the class of 2008, and is a teammate of OSU linebacker target Etienne Sabino.
"I am going to be working on Sabino to be a Buckeye," Howard said.
Howard will join fellow Floridian Michael Brewster in the Scarlet and Gray.
"He has been on me about OSU a long time," Howard said. "He was not the main reason I committed, but it will be nice to play with him."
Howard is relieved to know where he is going to be spending his college days.
"It feels real good sitting here right now and knowing that I will be spending the next four years at a place like Ohio State," Howard said with a tone of relief.
