2008-2009 SEC Players of the year (Football)

This is directed mainly towards EasyGeaux, but here are my possible candidates.

UGA - Knowshon Moreno, RB
LSU - Trindan Holliday, WR
UF - Tim Tebow, QB. Percy Harvin WR.
UT - Arian Foster, RB
Vanderbilt - Earl Bennet, WR (or did he declare?)

I think it will probably be Knowshon, unless the Tim and Percy connection is very prominent and prolific. Holliday's success is going to be based on if someone can get him the ball. I saw someone because RP's fate is in the air. Arian Foster is interesting at Tennessee because he is coming back to improve his stock in the draft.

But out of all of the playmakers, I think these are the guys to watch.

Having two candidates on Florida will hurt both of their chances but in all honesty, I see Tebow being the real candidate from Florida unless Harvin goes nuts on special teams.

Watch out for Perriloux at LSU. He will be back, perhaps as early as tomorrows practice. Also, Keiland Williams, RB at LSU will have a break out year as well. Right now though, I'd have to say Moreno at UGA.

It's funny though, Percy doesn't play special teams. Brandon James does (5'6" 170 Pounds)

RP will have to have an AMAZING year to surpass established candidates. He could get newcomer of the year, but PoY I don't think so.

The point of it is that on offense Timmy will get partial credit for everything Harvin does (except reverses) and credit for all of Florida's other playmakers. Every time Percy takes a 5 yard pass for an 80 yard touchdown, it will help both of their stats.

If last years SECCG is any indication, I think the ability is there. We have some pretty incredible playmakers coming back on offense, so I like his chances. Demetrius Byrd will be the best WR in the SEC next year.

Come on Red, gets the facts straight. He was cited once since he's been at LSU and that was for trying to get into a casino with his brothers ID. It's not like he was trying to pick up a $20 hooker with only $19 in his pocket. His latest stunt, that made the USA Today sports page (three times), was when he missed two classes and a team meeting when his dad died. He failed to tell his coach that he would be gone for the funeral and paid a pretty steep price if you ask me (forced to sit out all of spring practice).

If you guys liked how Matt Flynn lit up the Super Dome this year, just wait and watch what Perriloux can do should we be there to defend next year. Life is good on the Bayou right now!!!! ;D

A kid hollaring at a girl on the street and trying to get roped into a soliciting charge is a lot different than being a target of a federal investigation (probably cause of the ID thing, but I am not sure) and getting into a fight at a nightclub where two teammates were sacrificed over him.

It may be nothing more than other highly touted college athlete thinking they are above the law which clearly there are plenty of examples of these days unfortunately...

You forgot the time when he got into a fight with a club bouncer, because he was mad he had to leave the BAR with his PREGNANT girlfriend, at 2AM.

True, you could point out numerous things wrong with a number of situations RP's been involved with, but you must remember, there are poor decisions and then there is breaking the law. The federal deal was nothing more than he was questioned because he knew some folks from his hometown that were involved. It was dtermined that he was not involved at any level. Also, video from the bar proved that RP was NOT involved in the fight and he was exonorated. Hey, the KID acts like a KID, not a future NFL player on a National Championship football team, but that does not make him a criminal. Just a DUMB kid. I'll support him until he crosses the line into criminal activity. At that point I will no longer support him and I'm sure coach Miles will do the same. Good leaders don't give up on difficult followers. They mold them into competent parts of the team.

Wait and see what level of scrutiny Terrel Pryor is placed under at OSU. I'd be willing to bet it will be similar to what RP has faced.
