I'm pretty sure Ohio State has had a helping hand in forcing the last few scUM coaches to scram.

I hope you aren't serious. I think it's safe to say that OSU had little to nothing to do with this. Sure the 59 point beat down had to hurt, especially at the hand of a good friend, but I'm willing to be this had more to do with things in Madison. My guess is that he or his wife didn't like Wisconsin, or the Badgers history of not paying assistants much of anything, or perhaps he wasn't as chummy with Barry as was reported.
I think Barry Alvarez has more to do with this and Bielema before than anything else. It's the only real logical explanation as to why a guy would bolt to Oregon State or Arkansas from Wisconsin, which is a better team than either of those. Coaches don't like being suffocated by an AD that happened to be "the old ball coach" there and meddles with their program.

An article I just read suggested that perhaps Alvarez was tight with the money because he accomplished more with less and refuses to acknowledge the college football scene has changed since he was a coach. You can't keep the top assistants when your payroll is among the worst (9th in the B1G alone). However, Oregon St has a payroll worse than Wisky so that can't be the reason Anderson bolted. However, it will continue to be an issue for future coaching staffs until they pony up more money for good coaches. Until that time it will continue to be a stepping stone job and not a destination job.
