• Florida State has been winning by the hair of their chinny chin chins this season. They're due for that luck to run out eventually. They've got two rivals, Miami and Florida, plus (most likely) Duke in a champ game. I know that none of those three teams are great, but rivalry games can always get a bit crazy. The Duke thing is a long shot at best, but still possible.
• If Alabama beats MissSt, and then both teams win out the rest of the way with Bama winning the SEC, you will have 2 1-loss SEC teams, one of them the SEC champ the other the former #1 team. The committee would likely put both into the playoffs due to the perception of SEC superiority. I hate to say it, but that's just how it is. In that case, if FSU wins out, that leaves a single spot between the PAC-12, Big XII, and B1G. Of the three, the B1G has the least "street cred".
I think our chances are getting really good, but I'd be rooting for MissSt against Alabama just to make sure there aren't more than a single 1 or 0-loss team in the SEC. MissSt still has to play Ole Miss (rivalry AT Ole Miss). And who knows? Vandy could be a trap game. Stranger things have happened. Look at how they laid the beatdown on Old Dominion...
