So pretend that football players are allowed to get endorsements, now Nike is going to "endorse" every 5 star prospect out there to get them to go to Oregon. Or Limited Brands will "endorse" players that come to OSU.

The gap betweens schools that have rich boosters and the ones that don't will widen IMMENSELY and now you have an unlevel playing field.

That's why I suggested a cap. I'm not advocating these guys make millions but if you cap them at an extra $500 a week or something, who is that going to hurt?

Again, I don't disagree, but the argument is still that it will create an imbalance.

I have thought for a while now that players should get a percentage (with a cap as you said) for jersey's sold, autographs signed, photos of them sold, etc.

This still doesn't solve the problem, there are going to the haves and have nots...just like today, this just creates more of a cluster fuck. There has to be another way.
