Jared Sullinger arrested: Boston Celtics forward turned himself in after domestic incident, according to report

Boston Celtics power forward Jared Sullinger was arrested in a domestic incident over the weekend, Fox 25 Boston reported Tuesday morning.

According to Fox 25, police said Sullinger turned himself in at the police station at 6 a.m. Tuesday. He's due in Waltham District Court later Tuesday.

Sullinger is reportedly charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation after the incident, which occurred early Saturday evening.

The 21-year old averaged 6.0 points and 5.9 rebounds as a rookie before back surgery prematurely ended his first professional season. He's expected to be a big contributor in the coming season.

The Boston Celtics’ second year forward, Jared Sullinger was arrested on Tuesday September 3, following a domestic dispute over the weekend. According to myfoxboston.com, Sullinger has been charged with “assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation.” The night in question involves a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.

After the arrest warrant was sent out, Jared Sullinger voluntarily turned himself in during the early morning hours.

As part of the Boston Celtics’ youth movement, Sullinger was drafted number 21 in the 2012 and played in 45 games before a season ending injury. While he was having a viable, the back injury was serious enough to require season ending surgery. Sullinger did average 6 points and 6 rebounds before shutting it down.

According to CBSSports.com, Sullinger will be “arraigned on Tuesday in Waltham District Court.”

All the details of the domestic dispute have not come to light, so stay tuned for more information from the Saturday night incident.

Lot of info from the courthouse in this article. I was as shocked as anyone, but after reading this I don't think it's as bad as originally thought.
