Sometimes you just want to write off a season, but you kick yourself in the butt and refuse to give up. If there were ever going to be a season to give up though, this is that season

Before Henne and Hart both got injured, I thought we might overcome our problems and ironically end the season the way we started it (as part of a huge upset). Now that Illinois has stolen our thunder and made your team mad, I don't think a "Hartless" Michigan team, without its veteran QB is going to be able to deal with you.

Hopefully there are other Skunk Weasels on this board who will give you some smack (I'm pretty sure there are). I am definitely one of the more pessimistic fans in all of sports (comes from being a Reds and Bengals fan, too). My only optimism comes from what I think will happen after this season. If we get a new coach I will suddenly become extremely optimistic (and you will become extremely anxious).

Well, I could see how you feel that way but it's The Game. None of us triumphant Buckeyes are feeling overjoyed about last weekend either but it's The Game. Illini exposed the same problems that have led to our latest losses and the close score last year in The Game. And really, colsbeng, you can't honestly think that H&H both get to the end of their senior year and miss The Game?
So mister, you get your helmet back on and your a$$ out their on the board and give 100% because it's the last week of the season, young man, it's The Game.

I heard yesterday that there wasn't a betting line, yet.

Maybe it's a "pick the winner" game.

I picked Michigan in the pool.........but, I look at it this way..........
I get points for picking the winner or I am Happy when the Buckeyes win............either way, I win.

Last time it was done "back to back" was '79 & '81 with Earl Bruce
at the helm.

Actually, that's my approach to betting, also. I usually only bet on this game if Michigan is favored. Then I can bet on O$U and win either way. If O$U is favored, the worst thing can happen. Michigan can lose but cover (I lose my money and my emotional stability both).

I predicted four or five weeks ago that Michigan would win this game if the following three things occurred:

1) Ohio State was undefeated and could go to the NC if they won - this would increase the pressure on them, while we would have none.

2) Henne and Hart would both have to be healthy

3) Lloyd would have to announce his retirement to the team before the game.

Illinois took care of the first thing by ruining O$U's NC hopes before we could.
Henne and Hart may play, but they will be far from healthy.
I don't know whether Lloyd is going to tell the team he's retiring or not.
Given the horrible season we've had, I'd have to say the bad guys are probably going to win
