I was not real surprised by UM. Our luck had to run out eventually. As bad as we played, especially on the defensive side of the ball, we almost pulled it out again. The OSU game on the other hand was shocking. They really took your best punch and kept coming. It says a lot about the Illinois program and the Big 10 as a whole. As much as I hated to see our teams lose today, Illinois and Wisky will get some props for their good wins. Hopefully at the end of the season the Big 10 will flex some muscle and shut up some critics.

Your preseason played out pretty much like I thought it would after Oregon. Ours surprised me, both by the rapid improvement of our underclassmen, and how easily we fell off after reaching the plateau. Illinois is a long-term worry, no doubt. Wisky hasn't proved they can stay near the front w/o Alvarez driving.
Next week could go either way. I was confident until both our lines got manhandled. I am am unconfident about the B10 in post-season.

Zook has SEC connections - that's enough to beat the Buckeyes
Hopefully, every bowl-eligible Big Ten team will win its bowl game. I'm just glad I don't have to listen to the local Buckeye national championship talk 24/7 through the first week in January this year <g>

As of right now, I don't even see us keeping it close next week. However, things can change. If Hart and Henne become healthy and Lloyd announces his retirement before the game, I would think the odds would drop a lot
We skunk weasels have been learning to handle pain the hard way this year. I think we've gotten way too much practice

Yes, you are sounding way too mild and accepting for a skunk weasel. I think you're really a buckeye trolling
I see you keeping it close. Real close. The only thing keeping me from being terrified that you might actually win, is that if you do, LLLLLoyd will stay. Yes!

Remember, part of being a skunk weasel involves sneaking around conning you into thinking we're harmless
And yes, I am looking forward to the end of the Lloyd Carr years. I just wish he would have the grace to announce his retirement before the game and allow our team to play over their heads one time to give him an appropriate going away present

Sneaking. LOL, you sound like Golem in Lord of the Rings. There isn't any way to sneak around when you're big, hairy and ugly. You have to be sort of harmless to pull that off.
PS- for LLLLLoyd, there will be no 'Joy in Mudville'

Who cares about Mudville? Joy in A2 is all we need. Do you really want to take a chance on the outcome if Lloyd announces his retirement in advance?
Skunk weasels can sneak around among O$U players because they're big, hairy, and ugly, too.

I don't think Llllloyd announcing anything beforehand could influence the outcome more than the pre-game news last year. I saw little effect on the outcome from that sad news.
btw- fair point about sneaking around Buckeyes. (I still don't think you sneak worth a sh!t though)

1) The players didn't have a personal relationship with Bo; 2) There wasn't enough time for the shock to wear off and the motivation to take hold; 3) How do you know Michigan didn't play a lot better than they would have without the motivation from Bo's death?
Actually, I thought Lloyd should have told his players at the half of the App State game that he was going to retire at the end of that game if they didn't get it together and win

3) Is a fair point. The rest is bullsh!t.
Bo was around those guys all the time (1). Wtf??? on (2). I do not know what that means.
Gimme a break on App St. Llllloyd does not want to leave, my striped, weasely friend. He wants to stick around until moss grows out his weasel-sized port.
You may have to scrape him off the windshield with a razor blade in order to remove Llllloyd.

By the way, my friend took a camping trip to Montana last year and actually saw and took a picture of a real Wolverine (apparently they are very shy and you don't see them very often). In the picture, it really does look like a cross between a skunk and a member of the weasel family
