My fear here is exactly that Trgovac is prepared to run an NFL defense. I'm not sure how much experience he has stopping the spread option and other weird modern college defenses. Michigan needs to have a defense that can stop anything (and that definitely means they need some more speed). I do think any NFL guy has a good chance to get in the door with top recruits who are hoping to go to the NFL themselves.

I guess I wouldn't object too much to this hire, but he wouldn't be my first or second pick.

I gotta think that if Trgovac can design ways to arrest PRO offenses, he can certainly come up with ways to defend ANY college offense.

You may be right, which is why I said I wouldn't object if he were the one hired. Martin does seem to favor someone with previous head coaching experience though.
