I have no doubt that you guys will turn it around quickly with the right coach. It's one of the premier coaching jobs in once of the most prestigious programs in CFB. There are probably a couple of dozen big-time CFB coaches slobbering at this very minute to get an interview.

My choice: Mike Trgovac. A Michigan Man. A former player. A defensive-minded coach. An A-list candidate for an NFL job.

M's problem ain't offensive. (Well, it is, but it aint the offense). It's defensive. A stout defense is the artillery of a football team, in that it softens up the OTHER teams defense, because it is on the field al the time.

M's defenders, when Trgovac was a player, used to stop the opponent's best player. Consistently. That's what has to happen once more.

Good points. Actually, I think the D was more of a problem this yr than the O, even with Henne and Hart hurt a lot. I also have some issues with our D this year, despite how much praise they're getting and how well they're playing MOST of the time. All my worst fears about them came to pass when they couldn't stop Juice Williams and the Illinois O very effectively.
