Socal, There is no scenario in which an undefeated OSU would not get in. Even if we weren't the defending champs, but that is just icing on the cake. You are talking about 1 loss teams jumping the undefeated defending champs who would have just beaten 3 ranked teams in a row.

Completely agree.

I hate Sagarin, but I look at his stuff for SOS.

Right now OSU is ranked 5th, Scum 12th, Iowa 16th, MSU 22. If we run through all of those teams, our SOS will be just fine. No way they would leave us out.

I wouldn't call beating TTUN State, TTUN, and then most likely Iowa back to back to back "weak", which is what Ohio State would have to do to remain undefeated and win the conference.

They would be a lock for the playoffs if they did that, no question about it.

If the Big 12 gets "jobbed again" it's pretty much their own fault. They "refuse" to have a championship, but then they cry about it if they get left out of the playoffs when all of those other teams had to play a championship game.

They remind me of those cry babies Notre Dame who want so bad to stay independent but whine about being left out of stuff in the post season.

Either adapt to the current model or quit crying about it when you get left behind.

As I understand it, the Big 12 is not refusing to have a conference championship game. By rule, they are not permitted to have one.

If I remember correctly they had the option of establishing one for this season, and making it permanent starting next season if conference deregulation passes, which it is expected to do. They chose not to have a championship.

Here is how I think it might play out:

Undefeated ACC Champ - in
Undefeated B12 Champ - in
Undefeated B1G Champ - in
best 1 loss conf champ or ND if they win out - in

If a 1 loss gets in over an undefeated champ from any of the P5 conferences, the whole system might crumble.

Clemson beat a ranked team, and Bama has a loss (and a bad one at that).

And like you said, you can add in the fact that Clemson is undefeated and looked impressive in most games, while Bama has a L on their schedule.

I would have been very surprise if Bama was ahead of Clemson, at any point to be honest, unless Clemson drops a game.
