My observations from last night (mind you, first games are a bad litmus test):
- ScUM is in trouble if they don't fix their run game, as their QB situation is marginal at best. Their D should help keep them in games, though.
- Minny is going to BADLY miss Coleman, they need another cog to get that offense going. I don't know if their D is for real yet, or if they were simply "up" for a big first game
- TCU didn't impress me, especially on offense. Boykin is talented for sure, but wasn't "heisman candidate" worthy last night

Oddly enough it was TCU's D that didn't impress me. When Minny ran their version of the power game they were able to push TCU around. A team with a good corn fed O line and physical RBs with some meat on them will run right through them unless something changes. I felt like I was looking at a less athletic version of Oregon.

Well, according to the announcers, Minny wasn't even able to run as much as they'd like because the O-line was banged up. I don't know if that is true or why the O-line would be banged up in the first game of the season, but if that is the case, then yeah that does not bode well for TCU's defense if they could barely contain a pretty limited Minnesota offensive scheme.
And having a D-line with such small players makes me think TCU won't make it through the Big 12. Unless they simply outscore everyone, I don't see how TCU can win games with a small D-line. Any decent running school will tear them apart.
